The instructions that came with the housing note you may have to remove some material from the top ledge of the new housing. I did not need to. However, the ears that slide into the frame did need to be reduced in size.
Use a marker on the sides of the housing so that when you insert it in the frame you will be able to see where it is rubbing. Mine, initially, barely entered. So, using a fine file and 1500 grip sandpaper, I started taking the tiniest bit of material off, being careful to use smooth, even strokes on the ears. And, I did just a few passes at a time, marked the housing again, reinserted and removed to see where it was now rubbing.
Each time I did this, the housing would go in just a bit farther, until it eventually was in. All this took maybe 30 minutes, as I was removing very little metal each time. The fit is now snug, much better than the original.
A plus of the new housing that the magazine safety which was inside the old housing will be gone forever!!
