Inspired by the rigors of the competition shooting sports such as IPSC and USPSA. Grip tape allows for better traction in adverse shooting conditions and allows for better recoil management. These grip tapes attach to your pistol with a peel and stick adhesive and does not interfere with normal operation. Each grip tape is one single piece of abrasive sand material that has been laser cut to precision measurements for the best possible fit. This decal pattern attaches on the left hand side of your 1911 and provides a better resting point for your weak hand thumb. By placing your weak hand thumb on this grip tape you change the geometry of your grip for a reduction in perceived recoil. Sold in sets of 5.

I have used the front strap tape on all of my 1911’s. I knew this side strap grip tape would be just as useful. I am not sure it helps reduce recoil, it does give my thumb an index point when I practice my draw. I raved about it so much my wife had me put one on her glock. It’s a small advantage that hurts nothing and is cheap. If the worst ever happens why not have every small advantage you can?
