This magazine upgrade you will get additional rounds in the factory 10 round mags. These modifications are not permanent and easily installs in minutes. This upgrade will increase your Ruger's magazine capacity from the factory 10 rounds to 13 rounds. With one (1) in the chamber and 13 in the magazine, that's 14 rounds in the gun! Set of 5 upgrade kits allows you to convert five of your magazines.

PLEASE READ BEFORE PLACING YOUR ORDER
Choose whether or not you want your pistol to lock open on the last shot fired. The original magazine kits were sold with the Shockbottle follower THAT DOES NOT lock the slide open on last shot fired. The NicTaylor follower DOES lock the slide open on last shot fired but not like the factory magazine.

Since the button on the factory magazine is removed when installing the high capacity parts, the function of locking the slide open on the last shot fired is lost. That button on the side of the factory magazine is used to actuate the slide lock feature on the gun. The NicTaylor follower is designed to catch the slide itself and thus lock the slide back/open. This technique is used frequently on AR15 22lr conversion kits. However, when doing this the user looses the ability to drop the mag free since the magazine is essentially being stopped from falling free when the mag release is pressed. The user will either have to pull the magazine out or pull the slide back to its most rearward position and manually engage the slide lock. This will allow for the magazine to drop free.

Installation Instructions RESTRICTIONS

1. Remove factory basepad by depressing the spring retainer tab located at the bottom of the basepad. While depressing the spring retainer, slide off the factory basepad. CAUTION! This magazine spring is under tension and can "spring out" of the magazine tube along with other magazine parts.

2. Remove the factory spring. Remove the load assist button on the side of the factory follower. At this point you will be able to remove the factory follower.

3. Insert the HiViz follower and the included magazine spring.

4. Compress the magazine spring and spring retainer into the magazine tube and slide on the Basepad. Take note of the orientation of the spring retainer so that the side with the single button lines up with the hole in the basepad. The spring retainer will settle itself into the hole in the Basepad and lock it into place.

3 of 5 More like 12+1 upgrade January 1, 2021

13th round is somewhat hard to get stuffed in magazine. Inserting a full 13 round magazine into gun with slide closed is very hard as you have to really slam it home. Seems like this would wear on the aluminum parts pretty fast. If you do this seems like you end up with the 2nd round failing to feed into the gun.this is more of a comfortable 12 round magazine upgrade. 13 just seems to bind everything up resulting in potential malfunctions.
