Bottom line up front, the mod works and I have put several mags worth through the gun and it all works as it should. That said, the PPQ .22LR mags that come from Walther are NOT made to be taken apart. It is not as simple as pressing in on a tab and opening the base plate. The base plate is glued on and taking it apart required some force. All the instructions said was "remove the baseplate" as if it were that simple. In the end, the whole thing only took me a few minutes to do and, like I say, it worked, but be prepared to use some force to break the glue seal and accept that you are definitely using the OEM mag in a way that was not envisioned. That said, this seriously ups the capacity and especially for those considering their PPQ .22 for self defense, 5 extra rounds sure doesn't hurt.
