If you have bought one of our High Capacity magazine kits in the past that contained the Shockbottle follower, you know that the Shockbottle follower does not allow for the slide lock to engage on the firearm. The NicTaylor follower is an option for those who have purchased these kits in the past and want their gun to lock open on the last shot fired. The NicTaylor follower is designed to lock the slide back on an empty magazine. (READ BELOW HOW IT FUNCTIONS). This follower will only work with our spring kits and NOT the factory spring. If you do not have one of our high capacity magazine kits, this follower is NOT for you.

Since the button on the factory magazine is removed when installing the high capacity parts, the function of locking the slide open on the last shot fired is lost. That button on the side of the factory magazine is used to actuate the slide lock feature on the gun. The NicTaylor follower is designed to catch the slide itself and thus lock the slide back/open. This technique is used frequently on AR15 22lr conversion kits. However, when doing this the user looses the ability to drop the mag free since the magazine is essentially being stopped from falling free when the mag release is pressed. The user will either have to pull the magazine out or pull the slide back to its most rearward position and manually engage the slide lock. This will allow for the magazine to drop free.
